The Owners - Tony and Chuffy Merewether

Tony and Chuffy started sailing from a very early age in various dinghies and met while sailing in Burnham week 1979 and have sailed together ever since then in EAORA, RORC and Sail East races and have cruised the East Coast, Holland, Belgium and French coasts.

Tony joined David Chatterton in 1981 and Chuffy a year later and they both sailed with him on all his racing yachts named 'Sensor' until 2003 when he retired from racing.

Their racing includes three Fastnets, four Cork weeks, a class win at Cowes and numerous wins at Burnham week with four Town Cup wins. 'Amazon' is Tony and Chuffy's first yacht with 2004 being the first year of racing in their own name and the long list of excellent results and trophies has surpassed their wildest expectations.

Tony became Commodore of the Crouch Yacht Club in 2003 and both Tony and Chuffy work for Clarke and Carter Interyacht selling new and used yachts based at Burnham on Crouch in Essex.
